Length of Stay
Plan to enjoy a few hours with us. The average length of time families stay on our farm is 4 hours. Groups of adults stayed an average of just under 3 hours.
Site Accessibility & Weather
The Farmyard is primarily an outdoor venue. We recommend dressing appropriately for the weather conditions (which could almost be anything in Alberta). Things to pack could include hats, sunscreen, and/or umbrellas. We also recommend that you wear sturdy footwear (e.g. running shoes) that is suitable for outdoor and potentially uneven surfaces. You are visiting a farm, so there is a good possibility your clothes may get a little dirty...especially if you are one of those people who like to play hard.
The Farmyard is accessible to wheelchairs, motorized scooters, and strollers most of the time. Pathways may become wet and hard to navigate after long periods of heavy rainfall. Wheeled devices are not recommended in our Field Mazes.
When you visit the Calgary Farmyard, you may come in contact with pollen, animals, and insects. Although there is nothing out of the ordinary that you could not come in to contact anywhere else, we do suggest you bring any allergy medications, etc. that you feel are necessary.
We love pets and know many of you do too. We have many of our own here at the Farmyard for you to meet, so kindly ask that you leave yours at home. Sorry, no exceptions (except for service dogs with papers of course).
Driving from Calgary:
Take Stoney Trail SE (Highway 201) to Highway 22X East.
Drive on Highway 22X East for 3.2 kilometers (approx. 2.5 minutes) to Range Road 285 (Watch for a blue Calgary Farmyard highway sign prior to this intersection).
Turn right (South) onto Range Road 285.
Drive 1.4 kilometers and take your first left (East) onto Township Road 224.
Drive 1.6 kilometers. We are on your left!
We’re back—and can’t wait until you are too! We’re dedicated to protecting you, our staff, and our family. So, we ask that we make a promise to each other:
OUR FARMYARD PROMISE TO YOU
We will be a leader in safe sanitation and hygiene practices in all aspects of our farm including common areas, food preparation, and washroom facilities. Common areas will be disinfected regularly, and sanitizing stations will be available throughout the farm.
We will adhere to all Alberta Health and Safety (AHS) standards and social distancing guidelines.
Our animal care standards will remain exceptional, and as always, animal areas will be cleaned and disinfected regularly.
All staff will pass a health check prior to each shift and will be trained pertaining to AHS COVID-19 health and safety practices.
YOUR PROMISE TO US
You will not visit if you have been exposed to COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19 (including a fever, cough, or shortness of breath), or have travelled out of country within 14 days prior to visiting.
You agree to follow the Farmyard’s social distancing and sanitary guidelines for the courtesy and safety of all guests and staff.
Thank you from our family to yours
